Conceptual Project - High Violet is The Nationals fifth studio album, released in 2010. The album was universally acclaimed and counted as one of their best, in part thanks to Matt Berninger’s ‘textured’ and emotional lyrics. The album features use of ocean imagery, with lyrics about hearts being left on the waves, and oceans breaking. I wanted to juxtapose a sense of melancholy with a playful paper based execution.
